Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture also known as Cosmetic Acupuncture, Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation, or an Acupuncture Facelift, is a painless, non-surgical method of reducing the signs of the aging process. But, it is more than a cosmetic procedure. It is a rejuvenation and revitalization process designed to help the whole body look and feel younger. Specific points on the face, ears, neck, hands, trunk and legs are chosen to manipulate the movement of energy (qi) in the body according to the individual’s needs. These points specifically effect the face while simultaneously treats the underlying factors that contribute to the aging process.
How does it work?
FRA helps to improve muscle tone and dermal contraction especially in the face and neck. FRA has been shown to increase collagen production and aids in its dispersal thus helping to firm the skin and fill out wrinkles. Bags and sagging around the eyes, face, and neck can be significantly reduced and toned up. Metabolism is greatly improved thought these treatments, resulting in reduced puffiness often to the point of elimination. As acupuncture can profoundly effect the regulation of hormones in the body, conditions like acne and overly dry skin can be quite improved. By substantially increasing the circulation of blood, lymph and qi to the head, these treatments improve the complexion noticeably. Healthy facial coloring can be restored and there can be a tightening of the pores. Stress and habitual expressions which are so visible on the face are transformed resulting in a remarkably younger, calmer and less worn looking face with which to meet the world.
What are the effects?
The effects are far more profound and inclusive than simply improving one’s appearance. The radiance of natural beauty comes from a healthy body and mind. Holistic beauty is achieved by working on the inside to most effectively change the outside appearance thus addressing the underlying cause of disease.
FRA may erase as many as five to fifteen years from the face, with results apparent after just a few treatments. Fine lines may be entirely eliminated and deeper wrinkles diminished. Bags under the eyes can be reduced, jowls firmed, puffiness eliminated, droopy eyelids lifted and double chins minimized. Other likely results may include: moisturizing of the skin with increased local circulation of blood and lymph to the face; increased collagen production; muscle tone; and dermal contraction; tightening of the pores; brightening of the eyes; improving of the hormonal balance to help acne. Reduction of stress evident in the face- bringing out the innate beauty and radiance of the individual.
What is the course of treatment?
Generally, it consists of 14-18 treatments, 2 times per week*. The effects become most noticeable and lasting on or about the 7th session. Each person responds differently, depending on his or her condition and lifestyle prior to treatment. Following the initial course of treatments, monthly or quarterly maintenance sessions can prolong the result for 5 to 10 years. These treatments may be combined with facial massage, acupressure, aromatherapy, herbology and nutritional supplements.
The decision to begin treatment may be professionally or personally inspired or a combination of both. Different methods are emphasized and specific points stimulated according to how an individual is aging. The whole person is treated and evaluated on the body-mind continuum.
*Certain individuals may need 2 courses of treatments.
